Free Video Stories about Kids  (updated weekly)

We welcome you to the Archdiocese of New York Drug Abuse Prevention Program (ADAPP) website. Here you will find the tools to support our mission: to help our students build resiliency and make the positive decisions that will assure a healthy, productive future.

While every generation has faced its dilemmas, today's issues are especially challenging. Bullying, school violence, online safety, potential substance abuse – be it drugs, alcohol, tobacco or prescription and over-the counter medications – or stress and anxiety are just a few of the roadblocks that can interfere with their educational journey and disrupt a safe and healthy environment.

ADAPP, in partnership with Connect with Kids, has developed video and print resources to help facilitate youth meetings, classroom programming, mentor sessions and family discussions at home. They include:

  • Refuse, Remove, Reasons (Students | Prevention Counselors) – A multimedia high school curriculum to help students develop refusal strategies for alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, steroids, prescription and over-the-counter drug abuse.

  • Video: The Internet Generation – Watch stories of Internet realities and ways to help our kids safely navigate their online world.

  • Video: Prescription for Trouble – Learn about the latest drug threat to our children: the legal prescription and over-the-counter medications that have become today's drug of choice.

  • Video: Behind the Mask – Explore the feelings of despair that teens often hide from their parents and ways to help them battle stress and anxiety.

  • Video: Sticks and Stones – Hear what parents, students and educators need to know to stop the bullying in and outside of school and online.

  • Resource Guides for each video program, including fact sheets, parent tip sheets, age-appropriate classroom lesson plans and discussion questions for each program

  • ADAPP Public Service Announcement

  • Additional resources and information on Internet safety, bullying, and substance abuse prevention and intervention.

  • Video: Vignettes about Building Resilience, Alcohol and Marijuana Abuse, Bullying Prevention

We thank you in advance for joining ADAPP efforts to assure the best possible future for our children.
