Colonial Forge High School
At Colonial Forge High School we know that one component to academic success is school attendance. This year, it has been our goal to educate students and parents on the importance of attendance. We believe that students who feel connected to school will want to come to school. Our team approach to improve attendance has included reaching out to disconnected students as well as recognizing students who are committed to their education.
We have:
- Surveyed all our students on their attendance behavior.
- Shared our survey results on School Fusion.
-
Created Public Service Announcements through our writing across the curriculum initiative.
- Acknowledged our monthly perfect attendance students by creating a bulletin board in our cafeteria and through our PTSO recognition program.
- Created guidance lessons for all 9th grade students in order to raise their awareness of the importance of attendance and how they can be an agent of change.
- Created a team approach to reach out to students who exhibit poor attendance.
- Developed a mentor program for at-risk students.
