Children don’t always see racial equality in action. But that doesn’t mean they don’t want to learn. “When I speak to students, they are very passionate about the concepts of equality. They believe in them, they’re important to them and their sense of identity,” says Pamela Perry, Ph.D., sociologist.

Primary Colors explores real-life stories of kids who tell about their experiences with racial struggles and how it affects their lives. Parents and experts offer their views and advice about how you can teach your kids that skin color is not nearly as important as what’s underneath.
