sex-in-the-media-sized-2.jpgEvery Thursday night I let my son stay up late so we can watch a show called Supernatural. Many parents would probably be appalled that I let my 11-year-old watch a fairly scary show about ghosts, werewolves, vampires, monsters – you get the idea. But my son has loved anything to do with horror since he was able to talk. And quite honestly, so do I. Maybe it’s genetic.

So tonight we are watching an episode about a sharp-fanged female werewolf, and there’s this scene where the guy and the girl become involved romantically. I don’t know if you’ve watched network television lately, but it’s come a long way since Ricky and Lucy slept in separate beds. There were close-ups of open-mouth kissing, fingernails dragging down a back, biting of the lower lip. I mean, the woman was, after all, a werewolf.

What is the Real Cost of The Million Dollar Generation?

Government estimates on the cost of raising a child born in 2005 through the age of 17 is $16,000 a year. Families in the upper one-third income bracket will spend an estimated $279,450 to raise a child through the age of 17. Adding in some common expenses could send the figure to more than $1 million.
