computer-sized.jpgThis week, The Today Show lobbed a question to its viewers: “Could you give up your technology?” They featured a friend of mine, Dennis Kneale, who – somewhat reluctantly – agreed to give up his cell phone, two laptops and blackberry.

The agreement was for seven days. As managing editor of Forbes magazine, you can imagine how dependent Dennis is on his technology toys. Meetings, deadlines, speaking engagements – not to mention he is a single dad with a daughter who has her father’s cell number memorized. Dennis lasted 40 hours – then asked (well, demanded) for his tools back. Collective sigh of relief here.

working-mothers1.jpgConnect with Kids started something pretty cool last year. We thought we made it up but apparently great minds all over the world think alike . We call it The Moms Network. It all started because our friends would constantly talk to us — interrogate us, actually — about what kids today were up to, what new parenting tips were out there, what the experts have to say on topics such as STDs, teen drinking, online safety and cyberbullying… And we thought, hey! We should put these women to work sharing and reaching other moms just like them. (more…)
