We know that risk-taking is a normal part of growing up. Yet, today more than ever before, the choices teens make when it comes risky behaviors -- whether or not to drink alcohol or use drugs, or whether or not to stand up to bullying in our schools and community – affect everyone’s well being.

In business, LHI is committed to helping keep the men and women serving our country healthy. That commitment extends to the health and security of our children – and our community. We believe in the positive influence of parents, educators and those who care for our youth, and the power of that influence to guide our kids toward a future filled with promise and potential.

To that end, LHI is proud to continue its partnership with NewsChannel8 and Connect with Kids. This partnership makes available resources to help our community understand the issues, take action and talk with our kids – even about today’s “tough topics.” Together, we can buck dangerous trends among teens when it comes to risky decision-making.

This website includes resources to facilitate classroom activities, youth meetings, mentor sessions and to view and discuss three Connect with Kids television programs: Silent Witness about bullying, On The Rocks: The Epidemic of Teen Drinking and Good Kids, Bad Choices, both about risky behaviors. Each of these programs aired locally on both NewsChannel 8 (WKBT-TV) and My Network TV (WKBT-DT). These materials will help you take action:
